Western New York Best Catches of 2012

Over the next couple of months, we’ll be putting together an image library of some of the best fish caught in Western New York in 2012.

To submit yours, you can either email it to editor@wnyfishingmagazine.com, along with a brief write up, or post it on our Facebook wall here: WNY Fishing Magazine on Facebook

Here’s a couple of nice catches from Rochester area angler Rick McGuirk to get things started.

Big Conesus Pike 2012

The pike was 36+ inches, likely about 38.  My 24” ruler was not cutting it and he was trying to bite me the whole time.  It was, by far, the longest I’ve ever fought a fresh water fish.  I caught him on my stoutest rod, but when he ran, it was like I wasn’t even there.  Awesome fish.   Caught on October 14, 2012.

Conesus Largemouth Bass 2012

The Laremouth bass was 4.95 pounds and my biggest of the year.  Caught on May 6, 2012.

So what’s your best fishing photos of 2012?  You can send us anything you want, but we’ll likely only post the WNY catches.
